YPG Rasters
The rasters which came from the initial kriging are called aaa_bbb where aaa corresponds to the month (eg jan, feb, mar, apr, etc) and bb corresponds to the type of data (eg tm for maximum temperature or ppt for precipitation). The only exceptions are that April and May are named somewhat differently because they had to be done with a slightly different method (see GIS concepts under “difficulties). Those are named apr_ppt_rd and may_ppt_rd. After each of these files was clipped, they were renamed with the addition of a _c at the end of the filename.
jan_tm – Krig of maximum temperature
jan_tm_c – Krig of maximum temperature clipped to YPG boundary
jan_ppt – Krig of precipitation in January
jan_ppt_c – Krig of precipitation in January clipped to YPG boundary
PRISM Rasters
The PRISM rasters are called aaaa_bb where aaaa corresponds to the type of data (eg tm for maximum temperature or ppt for precipitation) and bb corresponds to the month (eg jan, feb, mar, apr, etc). Each of these files were given a projection (ProjectRaster), given the projection that matches the krig data (ProjectRaster_Projec), clipped to a square that encompasses the YPG boundary (_c for tmax and _square for ppt), resampled to match the krig data (Resample), and then clipped to the YPG boundary (_clip for tmax and _ypg for ppt).
tmax_01 – Maximum temperature raster for January
tmax_01_ProjectRaster – Maximum temperature raster for January with a projection of WGS 72 UTM zone 12N
tmax_01_ProjectRaster_Projec – Maximum temperature raster for January with a projection of WGS 84 UTM zone 12N
tmax_01_c – Maximum temperature raster for January clipped to a square that encompasses the YPG boundary
tmax_01_C_Resample.img – Square maximum temperature raster for January resampled to match the krig data
tmax_01_clip – Maximum temperature raster for January clipped to the YPG boundary
ppt_01 – Precipitation raster for January
ppt_01_ProjectRaster – Precipitation raster for January with a projection of WGS 72 UTM zone 12N
ppt_01_ProjectRaster_Project – Precipitation raster for January with a projection of WGS 84 UTM zone 12N
ppt_01_square –Precipitation raster for January clipped to a square that encompasses the YPG boundary
ppt_01_Resample.img – Square precipitation raster for January resampled to match the krig data
ppt_01_ypg – Precipitation raster for January clipped to the YPG boundary
Shape Files
The projected YPG boundary shape file was called YPG_boundary_project.shp, and the unprojected one was called YPG_boundary. The same goes for states020.shp. The projected YPG weather station locations shapefile was called WeatherStations.shp, and the unprojected one was called xy_statloc.shp. The temperature and precipitation data was manually entered in to the attribute table of xy_statloc.shp.
YPG_boundary.shp – YPG boundary shapefile
YPG_boundary_Project.shp – YPG boundary shapefile with a defined projection of WGS 84 UTM zone 12N
WeatherStations.shp – Weather stations shapefile
states020.shp – California boundary shapefile
states020_Project.shp – California boundary shapefile with a defined projection of WGS 84 UTM zone 12N
xy_statloc.shp – Latitude and longitude coordinates for the YPG weather stations
